Choice of sick leave method

BitaBIZ supports 2 sick leave methods.

The two sick leave methods that can be used are:

  • The employee must register sick leave on the current day. It is not possible to register sick leave in the past or future.
    ​

  • The employee has access to register a sick leave period in the past or future.

The sick leave method is selected on the page "Notifications & rules":

  1. Click "Setup admin".

  2. Click "Modules".

  3. Click "Notifications & rules".

  4. Open the section "Sick leave"

Should some of the features below be connected to your sick leave policy?

Notifications

Notification to approver

When employees register sick, an SMS notification is sent the the approver.

ℹ️ The message includes a note the employee has written in connection with the sick leave registration.

Notification to employee

A free-text SMS message sent on the first sick day registered during a period.

ℹ️ It can include instructions regarding your sick leave policy.

Fixed paid staff and hourly paid staff

It is possible to set up different absence codes, or rates, for different staff groups.

Registration of sick leave in hours

Step 1)

If one or more employee groups must be able to register sick leave in hours, this is activated on the employees' policy.

How to activate registration of sick hours in the policy:

  1. Click "Setup admin".

  2. Click "Modules".

  3. Click "Edit" on the desired policy

  4. Open the section "Sick".

  5. Select "Employees can register sick days in hours".

Step 2)

When sick hours are activated on the policy, Official work hours must also be activated.

ℹ️ If official work hours are not activated. Sick hour access will not work.

Step 3)

When sick hours are activated in the policy and official working hours have been set up, employees can now register sick leave in hours.

πŸ’ If an employee tries to register sick hours on a day off, the employee will be informed and the registration will be blocked.

Days off can be weekends, public holidays, days without official working hours or custom registration types created as a day off.

Max number of paid sick days per year?

It is possible to set a maximum number of paid sick days per year.

If the registered sick days exceed the maximum number specified in the employee’s policy, the sick leave registration will be blocked.
