Introduction to Flextime

Flexitime is used by employees who check-in and check-out every day when they are at work.

The work hours registered per day updates the Hour bank in accordance with the work day's official work hours.

Checklist: rules & logic

Flexitime is used together with leave & absence, overtime/ time-off and day bank modules.

Leave and absence

Whole day registrations

A whole vacation day count the official hours set up for that day. There is no adjustment of the timebank.

ℹ️ It is not possible to register flexitime on a day that has already been booked with a whole day of Leave & absence.

Half days registrations

Half day count half the daily official hours set up for that day.

ℹ️ Half days must be combined with a flexitime registration and the sum of the two count for the day's working hours, which then adjusts the timebank balance.

Registration in hours: Other vacation, Sick and Child sick

The leave and absence hours registered counts.

ℹ️ Registered hours must be combined with a flexitime registration and the total sum of registered hours counts as the days working hours, which then adjusts the hour bank balance.

Weekends & none working week days

Registered flexitime on weekends and none working week days, where official hours is not set (official hours = 0)

The total sum of registered hours on these days counts as plus time.

Hence, the total sum of hours are updated to the hour bank.

Public Holidays

Half public holidays

Count as half of the daily official hours set up for that day.

Half public holiday must be combined with a flextime registration and the sum of the two count for the day's working hours, which then adjusts the hour bank balance.

Whole public holidays

Count as the official work hours set up for that day.

ℹ️ If a flexitime registration is registered on a whole public holiday, the hour bank will be updated with the total sum of registered work hours on that day.

Overtime / Time-off

Time-off

Count as the official hours set up for that day, which is then deducted from the hour bank.

ℹ️ Time off must be registered as a whole day. It is not possible to register both flexitime and time-off on the same day.

Overtime

Overtime registrations will always update the hour bank with registered overtime hours.

Day bank

Whole day bank day

Count neutrally. I.e. a whole plus or minus day only adjusts the day bank balance, but there is no adjustment of the hour bank.

Half day bank day

Can not be used with flexitime registration.

Working day without registrations

No registration created at all

💁 A reminder that a registration is missing can be sent to the employee.

If the employee has not created any registrations on the working day, neither work hours nor reason for absence (Vacation, sick leave or time off), then no changes/adjustments are made to the employee's hour bank balance that day.
