About extra balance in days

Extra balance is a flexible balance that can cover, for example, care days, the 6th week of vacation, other vacation, or other company-specific days off – depending on how it is set up at your company.

In this guide, you can see how to request days from your extra balance.

How to request days

You can request extra balance days via the mobile app, Outlook app, or web portal.

1. Create a registration

  • Click “Add registration”

  • Select extra balance (or the name your company uses)

2. Select period

  • Enter start and end date

  • The system will automatically calculate the number of days

The green balance box shows:

  • How many hours you have available

  • How many hours you are requesting

  • How many hours are left after registration (remaining)

Requesting unearned days

It is not possible to request more days than you have earned.

If you try:

  • a red balance box will appear

  • the request cannot be completed

FAQ

Why can't I save my registration and get a red box?

If you try to request more days than you have available in your extra balance, the balance box will turn red and block the registration.

I can't select other vacation. It says I need to plan vacation first. Why is that?

If the app asks you to plan X vacation days first, it's because your company has activated a rule. You must first plan the number of vacation days the app asks you to plan before you get access to plan your other vacation days.

I have no more vacation days left, but I have 6 extra balance days left that I want to plan. But the system says I need to plan vacation first?

It sounds like you are trying to plan your extra balance days (other vacation, company days, OK days) in the next vacation year. That's why you get the message that you need to plan your vacation days first. Try booking your extra balance days in the active vacation year where you have already planned all your vacation days. That's the vacation year your extra balance days belong to, and they should be available for planning there.
