Extra balance is a flexible balance that can cover, for example, care days, the 6th week of vacation, other vacation, or other company-specific days off – depending on how it is set up at your company.

If you try to request more days than you have available in your extra balance, the balance box will turn red and block the registration.

That's why you get the message that you need to plan your vacation days first. Try booking your extra balance days in the active vacation year where you have already planned all your vacation days. That's the vacation year your extra balance days belong to, and they should be available for planning there.
