Taking vacation with the option for advance vacation – how it works

If your company allows you to take vacation in advance, it means you can borrow vacation days you haven’t earned yet.

If you borrow vacation days, these will be deducted from your vacation earning in the following months.

If you can take vacation in advance, here’s how to handle it:

How to request vacation

Open BitaBIZ in the mobile app, Outlook app, or web portal.

1. Create a registration

  • Click “Add registration”

  • Select Vacation

2. Select period

  • Enter start and end date

  • The system automatically calculates the number of days

The green balance box shows:

  • How many days you have available

  • How many days you’re requesting

  • How many days you’ll have left after registering (remaining)

Request advance vacation

You can request advance vacation if this setting is enabled in your policy.

The yellow balance box shows:

  • How many days you’re borrowing

  • The maximum number of days you’re allowed to borrow

Borrowed days will be deducted from your future earning.

Requesting advance vacation days in violation of the policy.

This happens if you try to request more vacation days than you can earn in the current vacation year.

The red balance box shows

  • how many days you’re trying to borrow in excess

  • how many days you’re allowed to borrow

Your vacation statistics

The vacation statistics give you an overview of both earned and borrowed days:

  • It shows your earned days per month

  • It takes into account vacation you’ve already planned

  • It shows how borrowed days affect your future balance

If you have borrowed days, they appear as advance days, which are deducted from your earning in the following months:

Vacation left (only Danish policies)

If your company follows Danish vacation law:

Vacation left flag shows the vacation days you haven’t used yet, which are left at the end of the vacation year

  • These days can be used until 12/31

  • In the period 9/1 – 12/31, vacation days in the calendar can be:

    • Newly earned vacation

    • Or vacation left from the previous vacation year
