Written by Morten Borum

Taking vacation with the option for unpaid vacation

If your company allows you to take vacation without pay, it means you can take more vacation days than you have earned – but the extra days will be unpaid.

If you can take unpaid vacation, here's how to do it:

How to request vacation

Open BitaBIZ in the mobile app, Outlook app, or web portal.

1. Create a registration

  • Click “Add registration”

  • Select Vacation

2. Choose the period

  • Enter the start and end date

  • The system automatically calculates the number of days

The green balance box shows:

  • How many days you have available

  • How many days you are requesting

  • How many days are left after registration (remaining)

Request unpaid vacation

You can request vacation days you haven't earned yet and take these as unpaid vacation.

The yellow balance box shows:

  • How many days are available

  • How many days you are requesting

  • How many days you are requesting without pay

Your vacation statistics

The statistics show how many days you have available in a month, compared to how many days you have previously booked in other months throughout the year. This helps you plan and book vacation in the future.

The "Available" balance shows how many paid vacation days you can request in a given month.

When you request more days than you have earned, the number of unpaid days will be shown:

Vacation left (only Danish policies)

If your company follows Danish vacation law:

The vacation left flag shows the vacation days you haven't used yet, which are left at the end of the vacation year

  • These days can be used until 12/31

  • In the period 9/1 – 12/31, vacation days in the calendar can be:

    • Newly earned vacation

    • Or vacation left from the previous vacation year
