Taking Vacation Only as It’s Earned – How It Works

If your company has chosen that vacation can only be taken as it is earned, it means you cannot take vacation in advance.

If you can only take the days you have already earned, here’s how you handle it:

How to Request Earned Vacation Days

Open BitaBIZ in the mobile app, Outlook app, or web portal.

1. Create a Registration

  • Click “Add registration”

  • Select Vacation

2. Choose the Period

  • Enter the start and end date

  • The system will automatically calculate the number of days

The green balance box shows:

  • How many days you have available

  • How many days you are requesting

  • How many days will be left after registration (remaining)

Requesting More Days Than You’ve Earned

You cannot request more days than you have earned.

The red balance box shows how many days you are requesting in excess, as it is not possible to request vacation days that have not been earned.

Your Vacation Statistics

Even though you can only take earned vacation, you can still plan ahead.

The vacation statistics help you understand how your balance develops:

  • It shows your earned days per month

  • It takes into account both past and future vacation bookings

  • It gives you an overview of how many days you have available in a given month

It is always the “Available” balance that determines how many vacation days you can request in a given month.

Vacation Left (Danish Policies Only)

If your company follows Danish vacation law:

The vacation left flag shows the vacation days you haven’t used yet, which are left at the end of the vacation year

  • These days can be used until 12/31

  • In the period 9/1 – 12/31, vacation days in the calendar can be:

    • Newly earned vacation

    • Or vacation left from the previous vacation year
