Central installation of BitaBIZ for Teams via Microsoft 365 Admin

Central installation allows you to install the BitaBIZ app for:

  • The entire organization

  • Selected users

  • Specific groups

Setting this up requires administrator rights (Global admin / Teams admin).

Install BitaBIZ for Teams for multiple users

  1. Go to the Teams admin center
    https://admin.teams.microsoft.com

  2. Select Teams apps and click on Manage apps

  3. Search for BitaBIZ

  4. Click on the app and select Users and groups

  5. Select Edit Installs and choose who should get the app. This can be targeted to specific users or to everyone. Then click Apply

  6. When Apply is selected, a bar will appear at the top of the window

The app will be installed automatically for users and will appear in Teams. It may take up to 24 hours before it becomes visible.

We recommend asking your employees to pin the app to the left menu so it is easily accessible.

Central installation of BitaBIZ for Outlook via Microsoft 365 Admin Center

Central installation allows you to install the BitaBIZ app for:

  • The entire organization

Install BitaBIZ for Outlook for multiple users

  1. Go to Microsoft 365 Admin Center → Settings → Integrated apps (Integrated apps - Microsoft 365 admin center)

  2. Click Get apps

  3. Search for BitaBIZ and click on the app

  4. Click Get it now

  5. Click Get it now to confirm

  6. Click Next

  7. Select which users the app should be deployed to and click Next.
    This can be targeted to specific users/groups or to everyone

  8. Click Accept permissions

  9. Click Next

  10. Click Finish deployment

  11. Click Done to complete the installation

The app will be installed automatically for users and will be available in Outlook under More apps. It may take up to 24 hours before the app becomes visible.

How do I uninstall the old BitaBIZ Outlook add-in?

Step-by-step guide to uninstall the BitaBIZ Outlook add-in via Microsoft 365 Admin Center:

  1. Go to Microsoft 365 Admin Center → Settings → Integrated apps (Integrated apps - Microsoft 365 admin center)

  2. Click and open the old BitaBIZ Outlook add-in named "BitaBIZ - Absence and Vacation Planning".​


    ℹ️ If you deployed the BitaBIZ Outlook app using a manifest file sent from BitaBIZ, the installed app will be named "BitaBIZ" and will be of the type "Add-in (Custom app)".​

  3. Click "Remove app" under the "Actions" section
    (The old BitaBIZ Outlook app will have the type: Add-in)​​

  4. Check the box "Yes I'm sure I want to remove the app and associated data" and click "Remove"​

Our employees need to install BitaBIZ themselves in Teams and Outlook. Is that possible?

Yes, if you don't want to deploy the BitaBIZ 365 app centrally and allow your employees to install the app themselves, it's easy for them to get the app from their Teams and Outlook client.

Outlook Add-in installs automatically but can't be found or removed

New employees automatically get the old BitaBIZ Outlook Add-in installed, but the admin can't find the deployment.

The add-in can't be found as:

  • Integrated App

  • uploaded manifest file

  • Intune deployment

  • GPO deployment

In Entra ID / Azure AD, you might only see an App Registration with SSO setup.

Reason

BitaBIZ has offered Outlook Add-ins for many years, and some customers still have very old installations.

Older Outlook Add-ins were often deployed directly via:

  • Exchange Online

  • Organization Add-ins

  • mailbox-level add-ins

  • OWA policies

  • legacy Centralized Deployment

These deployment methods are often not visible in modern Microsoft 365 admin interfaces.

Typical symptoms

  • New users automatically get the add-in

  • The add-in can't be found in Microsoft 365 Admin Center

  • No manifest file has been uploaded

  • No deployment via Intune

  • No deployment via GPO

  • Only App Registration / SSO exists

Check Exchange Online via PowerShell.

Important

In older installations, App Registration is often only used for:

  • SSO

  • login

  • Microsoft Graph access

The actual Outlook Add-in deployment may still be managed separately via Exchange Online.

I'm getting an error message in my BitaBIZ Outlook app

The old BitaBIZ Outlook app has been phased out and is no longer supported. If you open the old BitaBIZ Outlook app, depending on whether you're using the new or old Outlook version, you'll get an error:

  1. The old Outlook version shows this text:

    "A better experioden is coming..."


  2. The new Outlook version shows a blank page with no text:

For both Outlook versions, BitaBIZ does not support the old BitaBIZ Outlook app and it should therefore be removed. The new BitaBIZ Microsoft 365 app for Teams & Outlook should be installed either locally or centrally.

We get an error message when trying to uninstall the old BitaBIZ Outlook add-in centrally from Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

If you receive an error message when trying to uninstall the old BitaBIZ Outlook add-in, we recommend contacting your Microsoft partner.

They can help you remove the app properly from your environment.
