The first vacation year with the new Danish vacation law ends August 31st 2021

In relation to this, many of our customers have requested updates to provide a better overview of the vacation statistics:

  1. improved view of remaining vacation days as of August 31st

  2. new earning of vacation days should illustrate that a new vacation year starts the 1st of September

  3. the employee and the administration should be able to see if vacation days registered in the period 1/9 - 31/12 are new earned days or remaining vacation days from the vacation year ending 31st of August.

  4. the employee should be able to request vacation in future vacation years and it should not be possible to spend any remaining vacation days from previous vacation year, before the remaining days has been processed and transferred

Here you get a review of the updates ...

1. Improved overview of remaining vacation days as of 1st of September

  • we have added a visual element that clearly shows when the vacation year changes

  • we have added a separate box that clearly shows if any vacation days are left

  • If you hover the mouse over the info icon, you will be informed that the remaining vacation days can be used until 31/12

2. New earning of vacation days should illustrate that a new vacation year starts the 1st of September

  • note that in the image below, the employee has PRIMO earning of vacation days, meaning that the employee has earned 25 days as of August 1st

  • if earning of vacation days is ULTIMO, the full 25 days are available from the 1st of September

3. The employee and the administration should be able to see if vacation days registered in the period 1/9 - 31/12 are new earned days or remaining vacation days from the previous vacation year

  • in the calendar below, the employee has 10 remaining vacation days left as of August 31st

  • 5 remaining vacation days are booked in the new vacation year starting 1st of September. These days are automatically marked as "Vacation left", because they are related to the left balance from the previous vacation year. Hence, the employee's remaining vacation balance is now 5 remaining days

  • only when the employee's remaining vacation days from the previous vacation year has been used, the employee starts using new earned vacation days

  • below, the employee has 10 remaining vacation days left as of August 31st

  • 11 vacation days are booked in the new vacation year starting 1st of September

  • 10 of the days are remaining vacation days from the previous vacation year and 1 day is newly earned vacation

4. The employee should be able to request vacation in future vacation years and it should not be possible to spend any remaining vacation days from previous vacation year, before the remaining days have been processed and transferred

  • below, the employee has 5 remaining vacation days from the previous vacation year

  • in January 2022 10 vacation days are booked. These vacation days does not change the remaining vacation balance for the previous vacation year. Remaining vacation days can not be used until they are processed and transferred
