How to update your current integration to the new Exchange integration

ℹ️ Important update of your Exchange integration:

Microsoft has introduced a new and improved method to be used to integrate BitaBIZ into your Exchange server. The new method is safer and more operationally stable. The old integration method will start beeing phased out by Microsoft in the autumn of 2021.

This guide describes how to activate the new integration method.

ℹ️ GUIDE

The new Exchange integration is set up via our BitaBIZ Azure AD app, which must be added to your Azure Active Directory.

  • If your company have set up single sign-on to your BitaBIZ account, your company have already installed our BitaBIZ Azure AD app. Follwo the guide below to activate Exchange integration to the app.

  • If your company have not set up single sign-on, it means that the BitaBIZ Azure AD app is not yet installed. Therefore you need to install the app before you continue follow this guide to install the app

Configure Exchange integration to your BitaBIZ Azure app

1. In the Azure portal, on the left navigation panel, click Azure Active Directory icon

2. Select App registrations from the Manage section.

3. Do the following:

  1. Select All applications,

  2. In the search box, type BitaBIZ (or the name of your BitaBIZ enterprise application)

  3. select the application from result panel.

4. Select API permissions from the Manage section and click the + Add a permission button.

5. Select Microsoft APIs and then click Microsoft Graph.

6. Do the following:

  1. Click Application permissions,

  2. In the search box, type Calendars,

  3. Select Calendars.ReadWrite

  4. Click Add permissions

7. click the + Add a permission button again.

8. Select Microsoft APIs and then click Microsoft Graph.

9. Do the following:

  1. Click Application permissions

  2. In the search box, type MailboxSettings

  3. Select MailboxSettings.ReadWrite

  4. Click Add permission

10. Select Grant admin consent for bitabiz and click Yes.

πŸ’ The 2 API permissions have now been added!

11. Add new Client secret:

  1. Select Certificate & secrets from the Manage section

  2. Click the + New client secret button

  3. Type a description for the new client secret ie. "BitaBIZ Exchange integration client secret"

  4. Select the expiring period for the client secret
    β€‹πŸ’ We recommend that an expiration period of 24 months is chosen.

  5. click Add

πŸ’ The client secret has now been created!

12. Copy the Value text string from the newly created Client secret, which needs to be inserted into your BitaBIZ account later.

13. Do the following:

  1. Select Overview

  2. copy the Application (client) ID

  3. copy the Directory (tenant) ID

Application (client) ID and Directory (tenant) ID needs to be inserted into your BitaBIZ account later.

Log in to your BitaBIZ account

Click: Setup admin -> Integration -> Microsoft integrations.

In the Microsoft Exchange Integration section, click the link:

Access Modern Exchange authentication settings.

To configure the Exchange integration in BitaBIZ, perform the following steps:

  1. Copy and paste Application (client) ID into Application (client) ID

  2. Copy and paste Directory (tenant) ID into Directory (tenant) ID

  3. Copy and paste Client secret Value into Client Secret (Value)

  4. Activate the Exchange integration by turning button to ON

  5. Click Save Exchange

πŸ’ Saving the new Exchange integration will disable the old Exchange integration automatically.

πŸ’ The new Exchange integration is now ACTIVE. Test the integration by registering a sick day. The sick leave event will within max. 4 minuts be updated to your Outlook calendar. Remember to delete the sick leave event after testing
