On the 1st of September, the other vacation year is converted to the new vacation year for policies (salary agreements) where OK2020 is chosen for the other vacation year:

Method 1: OK2020 transitional arrangement with 1.67 days during the transitional period

  • Your OK 2020 policies have been converted to the new vacation year (1 / 9-31 / 8).
  • The remaining vacation days from the transition period have been transferred to the new vacation year.
  • The policy has 5 vacation days per year that are deposited in your employees' account on September the 1st.

Method 2: OK2020 transitional arrangement with 6.67 days during the transitional period

  • Your OK 2020 policies have been converted to the new vacation year (1 / 9-31 / 8).
  • The remaining days from the transition period have been transferred to the new vacation year.
  • The policy has 5 vacation days per year from 1/9 2020 which is first introduced 1/9 2021.

The calculation for the image below

To convert 6.67 other vacation days from the transition period to the new vacation year which runs until 1/9 2021, we have done the following:

  1. On 31/8 2020, the other vacation balance for all your employees is written down with -5 days
  2. On 1/9 2020, remaining days (+/- balance) have been transferred to the new vacation year
  3. On 1/9 2020, +5 new other vacation days/hours have been deposited in the employees' accounts.

Example: If an employee has not requested any other vacation days per 1/9 2020, the employee has 6.67 days. If one vacation day is held during the transition period, the balance from the 1st of September 2020 is 5.67, etc.

new vacation law

Please note!

The vacation statistics for the old vacation period from before 1/9 2020 will no longer be updated in the employee's calendar. Therefore, neither the manager nor the Payroll Admin can register other vacation back in the old other vacation year via their calendar access (only applies to employees who have had their other vacation moved to the new vacation year via the OK2020 transition scheme). Read more about calendar access here!

The new vacation law is valid in the employee's statistics and will be updated with any other vacation that has been automatically transferred per 1/9 2020. Read more about other vacation here!

Payroll exports are not affected. If a day is approved, it will also be added to your payroll system export from the old vacation period. Read more about payroll export here!
